Marathon Sports End of Summer Classic in Bare Cove Park |

The End of Summer Classic is organized and hosted by the South Shore Model Railway Club, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Proceeds from this event benefit the Friends of Bare Cove Park Fund and other worthy local causes. ANNOUNCEMENTS: A shuttle bus will be available to transport runners from the train station to the registration area from 4:30 until 6:00pm. The van will also make a trip back to drop off runners to the inbound train after the race. We urge you to support the Boys & Girls Club of Plymouth by participating in the 16th annual Run to the Rock 5K,10K or ½ Marathon on Saturday, Sept 11th . For details go to www.runtotherock.webs.com Unleashed by Petco will be at the finish line handing out free samples. A Fox & Hounds Petcare is offering free dog sitting for anyone attending the race. They are located less than a mile from the park entrance at 191 Beal St. It’s a fantastic facility with a caring staff of professionals to take care of customers pets. Thursday, August 26th 2010 @ 6:30pm Bare Cove Park 52 Bare Cove Park Dr (off Fort Hill St) Hingham, MA 02043 This event is easily accessible via rail on the new Greenbush Line which runs from South Station. Simply get off at the West Hingham Station and walk across the street into Bare Cove Park.  Outbound Trains from South Station depart at 4:00, 4:52, 5:00pm. After the race Inbound trains returning to Boston, leave West Hingham at 7:31 & 8:49pm. A 5 mile road race on roads and trails, multiple water views Mile splits and a water stop will be provided Professionally timed Certified Course Cash prizes in the open division Registration will be capped at 750 runners. Shirts provided to the first 400 registrants. Online registration will close on Wednesday, August 25th @ Noon |
